Started in 1984, the Spirituality Resource Center in Salina, KS, is a group of citizens who acknowledge that spirituality is a fundamental element of what it is to be human. We represent a diversity of faith-based organizations including Christian and other religious traditions, with some who espouse no organized religious affiliation. We believe that the Mysterious Immensity of the Divine transcends religious institutions, dogma and doctrine, and we actively explore expressions of spiritual understanding to broaden our individually limited understanding. Our purpose is to include, rather than exclude, all voices expressing their experiences of this profoundly important aspect of our humanity: namely, spirituality.

We acknowledge that throughout human history, wars, violence and discrimination have been justified under the name of religion, and that up to this day, our dominant religious traditions continue to exclude and disenfranchise religious or non-religious minorities from basic human rights.

As a means to increase understanding among ourselves and to bring peace to our local and world communities, we host speaker forums and community-building events in Salina and the Central Kansas region.

Please leave a comment in the guest book related to issues of spirituality, and please sign your name. Please honor our request to speak respectfully of points of view that are different from your own. Our goal is to hear from multiple voices, without having any one dominate. From different viewpoints we find common ground.
